This started as a walk through downtown Portland. What ended up on paper looks like something a painter spent weeks on.

Shot from beneath a semi-clear awning after a fresh rain — looking straight up through organic debris and plastic and afternoon light — the result is pure abstract composition. Patterns inside patterns. Color that has no business being that precise.
