I struggle to put into words why I photograph certain brick walls while passing by so many others. This one perhaps epitomizes the mystery. I really like this image — but why, exactly? I could say I like the mix of red tones in the brick, the harmonies with the red downspout and the paler red vent. The harmony of lines. But does any of that actually explain it?
Then again: put into words exactly why you love someone. Put into words precisely what a song means to you.
