Darkness And Light Before The Storm -B/W – Fine Art Archival Print
Before the Storm – Oregon Coast
Down a narrow service road off the Oregon coast highway, we found ourselves on a near-empty beach, the ocean ahead and a storm fast approaching behind. I stepped out of the car and walked toward the water—50 yards through wind and sand—to where the sun hung low, pouring light through a sky tangled with shadow.
This photograph was originally captured in full color, but as I revisited it in my catalog, I saw its deeper potential in black and white. The drama of the moment—the contrast of radiant highlights against the encroaching dark—felt more alive stripped of color, distilled into tone and texture.
Offered as a museum-quality archival pigment print, this piece holds both calm and intensity. A moment before the sky breaks—light framed by the storm.
