East Lake At Sunrise In High Desert Territory

$50$300

East Lake at sunrise in high desert territory, central Oregon. It’s late summer so the mornings were chilly, in the high 40’s (F) before the sun rose jutting above the horizon and the hills. The lake is serene and beautiful and the light coming up, intense. It warms the air. The whole surroundings warm the soul. Just a few minutes later, a gaggle of geese swim by in a loose formation appearing content in the calm water and the quiet still.  The second from last picture in the gallery is an unedited version just for comparison purposes.

Description

Maybe I shot 20 pictures within the roughly 60 minutes of time that elapsed, as the scenery changed, the light grew and life reappeared brighter. And then it became photographically dull. Not dull, from a being in nature sense just from taking more pictures here. As the sun reached higher, the steam on the water paled and finally vanished, and the hills lost their sharp contrast with the lake. Time may be captured in fleeting moments but what are we really able to hold, to grasp, to fully comprehend of it, laughter in the wind?
