Setting Sun Across Open Field In Mt Vernon, Washington

$40$300

Not far from the Bay View State Park in Mt Vernon, Washington where I was camping, there’s a nearby estuary and bike trail. Perfect for hiking and in my case taking pictures at sundown. As you can see, this a clear view to the horizon of the sun going down. It’s golden light filtering across an open field, quiet, with almost no one around. I took my time taking a series of pictures, this one took a while to get just right in the editing process. I wanted that feeling of light, strong in places but weakening,  just before the sun finally dips below the horizon fading away the light.  I always feel a sense of hope as the sun rises and falls, forestalling the inevitable darkness to come.

Description

Standing near the blacktop road, very few cars,  just a wonderful feeling of light watching the sun go down and the view of the wide expanse. No buildings, no noise, only the sounds of the wind slightly rising and falling, a patient companion.
